Ever since there has been a Romanian artistic literature, considering the modern meaning of this word, Italy has fascinated writers in a very special way. It wasn’t a space of formation, like France or Germany, where youngsters went to study very frecvently in the 19th century. Italian’s country or the promised land of emigrants, Italy remains constantly associated with liberty, beauty, tolerance, vitality, art, with the musicality or its own language, in its representations in Romanian literature. The Romanian Institute of Culture and Humanistic Research in Venice has decided to involve in the promoting of Romanian literature in Italy, starting with the observation that many translations in Italian are the results of individual initiatives. Many different hypostases of the way Romanian writers managed to get closer and reflect Italy in their works were presented.
